You call this a happy birthday?

So I figured that since Aizay is one year old, he is old enough to be a guinea pig. Here, he is angry because he thought when I mentioned stickers, I meant the Elmo kind, not the ones that are actually EEG electrodes. And he didn't like listening to those annoying, loud clicks either. I will reconsider how I will celebrate next year. And when he gets ice cream tonight, maybe he'll forgive me.

Walking like a pro

To Aizay, this (almost deserted) hallway at the the Quad Cities airport felt like his own runway. I let him walk around for 10 minutes.

One down, seventeen to go.

Happy 1st Birthday, Aizay!!!

We had a birthday party last Sunday, and Grandma and Grandpa and Great-Grandma joined us live via webcam and cellphone. Christine made him a tiny birthday pie (pear-pineapple-babyfood custard with pinapple chunks frosted with whipped cream...I'm hear to tell you, it was great). I know, I know, he's not really a year old yet, but I will driving back from Boston on his birthday.Posted by Picasa

No, no, the other end.

Aizay likes to help mommy with the laundry. For instance, he knew right away that an important part of the job involved wearing undies on his head. It only took him 3 hours to fold this pair of undies. He was a big help. Posted by Picasa

Road rage.

It's time for the he's-one-year-old photo session. Aizay shows us you're never too young to drive. I have it on good authority that despite his maniacal grin in this picture, it was not the easiest photo session--there was a lot of crying and mucus. Posted by Picasa

Survival mode

Bliss! We're still alive after being on our own for four days.
