Go Hawkeyes!
Welcome to the baby-blog of our children: Aiden Xavier (also known as Aizay) and Coraline Dorothea. Originally the blog was conceived to tell our distant families and friends about our boy's birth. It continues because no-one, but no-one should be denied the pleasure of hearing about our brood. No-one.

Look at that smile, he's like a little angel. Well, perhaps an angel that takes more than the usual pleasure at making a mess, screaming when he wants something, horrible diapers, and refusing to eat his carefully microwaved lu -- oh, that explains it.

...and to top it off, your server says, "I know you like chicken. I've seen you eat it before." This is how I imagine Aizay must feel when I give him cow's milk in a cup before bed. He's like an outraged consumer. While he is crying and pushing the cup away, I imagine him yelling, "This is outrageous! I ordered the magic juice!"

Aizay loves brushing his teeth with his new baby toothbrush. He can do it himself! He cries when I take it away...Can anyone guess what he is holding in his right hand?
In other news, Aizay said "mama" Sunday and meant it. He was prostrate on the floor wallowing in abject desperation because I was actually leaving the room. That proved very motivating to him. And, of course, he got what he wanted because I went right to him when he called me "mama".

Aizay has figured out how to tilt his head waaay back to get his beverage. But he hasn't figured out how to keep it all in his mouth yet.

These are from Claire's birthday party a few weeks ago. Aizay found out he likes balloons and ice cream cake. He ate all his cake. I thought he was gonna barf but he didn't.

p.s. Dave can't stand it when Aizay makes a mess while eating. He really has to come to terms with that...

We told him, but he didn't care that wearing the napkin on his head might indicate a lack of good breeding.

Today we're in Lincoln, NE for a wedding. Our hotel is providing Aizay with the chance to enjoy the many pleasures of pay-per-view. I'm sure that will be reasonably priced.
